Leah Thompson, MA, LPC

Leah Thompson, MA, LPC

Leah believes throughout our lives, there are circumstances that cause us to lose sight of our true authentic self. She also knows asking for help can be difficult, which is why she values taking time to develop a therapeutic relationship based on trust, a safe environment and teamwork. When working with children, she likes to use play based techniques and movement to assist in regulation while discussing stressful topics.

Leah’s work experience encompasses a wide range of present conditions and concerns. They include anxiety spectrum disorders, fears both rational and irrational, self-esteem issues, developmental trauma, complex trauma, adoption issues and relationship barriers. Leah has an understanding of the sensory system, which can be a hidden symptom within many conditions. Her client base for several years has involved working with children and teens, young adults transitioning into adulthood and adults dealing with stressors that impact day-to-day function.

Leah’s approach begins with education of brain systems. No matter the age of the client, she is always excited to share and educate on the specific areas that impact thoughts and feelings. She has an extensive toolbox to develop traditional and alternative strategies that best fit you or your family. Leah has 20 years of experience in the use of Neurofeedback and Interactive MetronomeⓇ. Neurofeedback impacts brainwave patterns to allow for greater regulation and a decrease in the fight/flight/freeze response which occurs in many conditions. Interactive MetronomeⓇ supports greater executive functioning and organization of brain systems. No matter the approach, Leah will assist in assessing the tools that best meet your needs.

Emily Krause, MSW, LCSW

Building a positive and trusting therapeutic relationship as a vehicle for growth is at the core of Emily’s practice. She is passionate about providing clients with a warm, supportive space to explore and discover the possibility of change.

Emily naturally shares a calming and nonjudgmental presence. She is dedicated to identifying and building on clients’ strengths, facilitating self-awareness, and helping clients build meaningful relationships. She enjoys working with clients to find helpful tools and strategies to cope with challenges.

Emily has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings during her many years of practice. She has experience helping clients with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties and is currently working with adults 18 and older via telehealth. Emily uses a humanistic and strengths-based perspective. Her practice is eclectic, and she employs tenets of mindfulness, Polyvagal Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Rather than a prescriptive approach, Emily meets clients where they are and tailors treatment based on their individual situations, needs and strengths.

We all encounter experiences that condition us to hide, resist, or abandon our authentic selves. Emily believes that as we uncover and rediscover our authenticity in the healing process, it deepens our connections with ourselves and others.
