Movement and Mindfulness

We believe that is important to meet clients where they are at. The use of movement and play during therapy provides opportunities for body regulation and awareness. Movement enhances communication and connection with one’s emotions. Children learn and communicate best in an environment where play is primary. Using alternative activities in therapy can help children to engage in the process while providing a therapeutic space to teach skill development and promote healing and wellness.

Mindfulness in therapy helps clients to increase awareness of self and to be attentive and present in the moment. Authentic Healing therapists use a variety of mindfulness-based approaches to help clients succeed in finding rest, relaxation, replenishment and release. Using mindfulness practices in therapy teaches clients skills to take charge of managing everyday stressors. Learning how to be more aware of your thoughts, feelings, surroundings and emotions can help reduce the automatic responses that often interfere in life.
