Neurofeedback is a therapeutic tool used to assist in regulating brain function through the strengthening or inhibiting of brainwaves in specified areas. It has been termed biofeedback for the brain, as it is a non-invasive method of impacting brain function, which in turn has the potential to impact symptoms and behaviors.
While the therapist observes real time brainwave activity, the client through breath and calmness can manipulate movement of pictures or games on their monitor. This real time feedback allows for real time changes to occur neurologically. Brainwaves are monitored through sensors being placed on specific regions of the scalp associated with the symptoms reported. It can be described as “taking your brain to the gym” to work on areas that need organization, enhancement, or a decrease in over activity.
Here at Authentic Healing, Neurofeedback is assessed on a case-by-case basis for compatibility and acceptable payment plans. There is a 9-month commitment to the process, as overtraining provides the greatest outcomes of success.
The primary focus through Neurofeedback at Authentic Healing, is on calming brainwave patterns associated with an over-aroused nervous system, such as anxiety spectrum disorder, Autism spectrum challenges and trauma.
